The Climb: Out of Grief, Into Joy
Travels from Texas
The Climb illustrates the importance of the truths we live by, the truths woven into our souls through adversity, pain, and loss that bring us closer to our authentic selves and into a more authentic relationship with God.
Because God pursues us with unrelenting love, at some point in every person's life the following will be true:
There is a path, but it's not the one you would choose
There is a plan, but it's not the one you had in mind
There is a purpose, but it's impossible to understand in the beginning
There will be transformation, but not the kind you'd ever dream of

Becky was born in Dayton, Ohio in 1961 to Charles and Anna Stanley. When she was 8 months old her father was called to pastor the First Baptist Church of Miami, Florida. Becky attended kindergarten and first grade at a Christian school her dad founded called, George Muller Christian School. Becky received Christ as her Lord and Savior at the age of five under the tutelage of Aunt Pat, her kindergarten teacher. Becky attended second grade in Bartow, Florida where her dad pastored for one year. Then the family moved to Atlanta, Georgia where her dad later became the senior pastor of the First Baptist Church of Atlanta. Becky has one brother, Andy Stanley.
After graduating from the University of Georgia, Becky received her Masters in Biblical Studies at Dallas Theological Seminary. In 1988 Becky married and later had three children.
The family spent their formative years on the West coast, four years in Portland, Oregon, and ten years in Carmel, California. When the children were middle school and high school age, the family moved to Dallas, Texas where Becky currently resides – exactly four minutes from her daughter who has two sons. When Becky’s 26-year marriage ended she initially wrote for her dad. Later she got her real estate license and sold residential real estate. During the Lockdown Becky wrote her first book called, The Climb: Out of Grief Into Joy. During the summers Becky serves as her daughter's summer nanny. Becky's pastimes are cooking, cycling, hiking, and reading.
Testimonial
"Becky shows how becoming attuned to the tender presence of Christ creates a safe context for bringing our wounds and regrets into the light for healing, and how forgiveness is the path to freedom. She shares with a vulnerability that invites others to join her in learning how to live confessionally, humbly, surrendered, and obedient."
